Who is
Elizabeth Bradshaw?

I make videos, write essays, and crack jokes. Having been on both sides of the political and religious spectrum, I like to push people to think outside their default framework. I believe that humans are capable of creating a better society together, but we have to keep having difficult conversations to do it. I read big books so you don’t have to, put difficult concepts into simple words, and try to make you laugh along the way.

Speaking

I have worked in middle school, high school, and college settings as an ELA teacher, a college and career counselor, and a teaching assistant. Currently, I co-host an everyday ethics podcast called Something to Think About.
Skills: creating and presenting material, project management, advising

Writing

I have published a YA novel, written a master’s thesis, and created a variety of content from email templates to lesson plans to recruitment presentations. Currently, I write a column for The Austin Chronicle.
Skills: creative copy, mastery of language

Outreach

I love working with my community, from working with the families of my students to attending protests to promoting and supporting local small businesses in Austin, Texas. Currently, I work full-time for Austin Community College.
Skills: public speaking, organizing

My values:

John Green said, “The meaning of life is other people.”
In my occupation, creative projects, and personal life, I always strive to serve my community, speak truth to power, and continue to resist the oppression of marginalized groups, whether I am a part of them or not. I hold myself and the people and organizations I work with to high ethical standards. This can be an asset or a nuisance, depending on your framework.

Work with me:

I work full-time for Austin Community College, co-host a weekly podcast called Something to Think About, and write a bi-weekly column for The Austin Chronicle. Want to add something to my plate? Send me an email! bradshawwriter@gmail.com.
